Here are some updates for you.
TML2000
The league file has been created and is available for downloading from the Web Site.
A couple important notes:
Automake.opt
It is a very small file and might interfere with making automanagers. To whit…….
Please forward a contingency automanager to me (jpertierra@ aol.com) NO LATER than 4/22/2001.
You should also then send your automanager to your first two opponents (schedule on the web site).
Let’s play ball.
TML Stat Reporting
In that we are all adults (in age) I will go over this once and hopefully will not have to talk about it again.
As a manager you must:
e.g. NYCS00 meaning CS @ NY in 2000
AND b) Me by the series deadline.
It would be most efficient to send it out as soon as the series is completed so that you won't forget.
6) Please PLEASE don’t wait until the series deadline to call me and tell me that you did not get an automanager. I will not be happy.
Thank you for taking care of the Commissioner/Statistician.
Rule Proposal
Limit the number of active players on the roster to 26, for the playoffs only.
The rule proposal above did NOT pass so all players are active for all series. You have the option of making them inactive when you send out your automanagers.
TML 2000 Dates and News
The unofficial season opener will be held the weekend of May 4-6 here in the Capital District. Thus far the only out of towner I have heard from is George Mowry regarding attending. Am I to assume that this is a dead issue? I hope it is not, but you should let Kevin and I know by the 14th if you are interested in doing this. I am leaving for Florida on April 12th and will return the 21st, and we'll make the decision then.
If you are interested in making reservations at the Clarion, the number is 518-785-5891.
TML 1951 Draft and Kickoff
The draft was a lot of fun and went just a tad over an hour. I thank everyone for all their help and enthusiasm.
Trading will end on April 18th and your cuts (if you need any to get to the 35-man limit) are due to Kevin that night. The season will kick off on the 24th. The league file has already been done. I am just waiting for any late trades.
Series Naming Protocol
Please, I do no want to repeat this note to all managers over and over again,
BUT PLEASE remember to name your files with the season (e.g. CFNY67). This will greatly increase the sanity level of your aging commissioner.
Diamond Dreams
I am repeating my call to everyone regarding 1969.
Please notify Chris Krebs (Their Web Link is on our Web Site also) if you would support 1969. Price wise it would be reasonably priced if everyone in both the BIG 1960’s and TML1960’s bought a disk.
I do not think that it would be cost efficient for Diamond Dreams or price efficient to us as customers for them to pursue the 50’s. As much as I love them (and unless someone has the source material at hand so that the Company would not have to spend the money to buy them), the end cost to us for a disk would be much more than any of us would want to spend.
As much as Chris Klug loved to produce those sets and feed our habit, it makes that much more sense for Chris Krebs to continue game development.
I would ask all the 50’s managers to consider that we will probably be changing games for 1952 ONLY. Please don’t read anything into this. We will still be with Diamond Dreams in the Current and the 60’s, just not the 1950’s.
Pat, Kevin, Rich and myself will be spending time evaluating the alternatives. The two that come immediately to mind (and have these seasons already readily available) are Diamond Mind and Strat-O-Matic. APBA is in either flux or vacuum, depending on whom you talk with so, unless someone has another suggestion, that is our direction for the future.
That’s about all for now. I hope you are all well.
Jim
