Just a reminder, Tim Eddis has taken over the Corpus Christi franchise in TML 2000. Rocky has resumed in Kentucky and Bryan Sakolsky is now the owner in Mohawk Trail.

TML1999 Player and Pitcher of the Year
Several votes were thrown out of the Player of the year balloting as people voted for Pitchers.
However, in the closest balloting ever, Derek Jeter of New York was voted as Player of the Year, edging out Mark McGwire of Berne 200-198 to win the honor. Jeter was named 1st on 8 ballots, McGwire 5, Shawn Green of NB and Valdimir Guerrero of MG 3 each.
The top 5 vote getters were:
1. Derek Jeter (NY) 200
2. Mark McGwire (BO) 198
3. Shawn Green (NB) 164
4. Vladimir Guerrero (MG) 163
5. Brian Giles (NY) 124
This was Jeter's first Player of the Year award.
In a runaway, Pedro Martinez of Gotham City won his 2nd Pitcher of the Year Award (and 2nd in 3 years). Martinez, who led the league in ERA from start to finish, drew 19 of 21 first place ballots. Runner up Randy Johnson of New York got the other 2. The complete balloting for Pitcher of the year was as follows:
1. Pedro Martinez (GC) 101
2. Randy Johnson (NY) 63
3. Mike Hampton (MG 11
4. Kevin Brown (ZR) 10
5. Billy Wagner (ZR) 2
6. Eric Milton (DV) and Mariano Rivera (DY) 1
PLAYOFFS
Reports are sketchy, but 3 of the playoff series were completed with the Division winner prevailing in each case.
Buffalo, New York and Zaca have advanced, setting up the following:
BU vs winner (MG-GC) and NY-ZR
Buffalo and New York will host games 1,2,6,7. George and Mike will be playing their series at the draft. If Jim Schembari is coming up for the draft, the Zaca - New York series will also be played face to face. As of last look, Dave is coming to the draft so the other semi final and the championship should be played face to face.
TML2000 and TML1967 Drafts
Both of these drafts will be held the same day. The 2000 draft will start at noon Eastern on February 3rd and will be held at my house. Please let me know if you are coming or will be in the Chat room that we will set up on AOL. I am using RoadRunner now so the phone lines won't be tied up during the draft.
The 1967 draft will take place at 7 PM Eastern. Again, let me know whether you will be in the Chat Room or there in person. This is the draft we have been looking forward to for 3 years as the Ed Faver draft.
Rule Proposal
During the draft we will be talking about how draft choices are earned/lost/traded. In that the proposal will effect the TML2001 draft choices, which haven't been earned or traded, any decision will take effect immediately.
Diamond Dreams
Card information is available on the Diamond Dreams Web Site for all who are interested.
All TMLers playing the 60's should send Chris Krebs an eMail indicating interest in 1969. Reason, he says that only 9 people have expressed an interest in the season and that is not enough to pursue making the season. In that there are 16 TMLers playing 1967, our communal interest would be best served by letting him know you want the season.
There should be another Jim's Corner a week before the draft (at the latest).
Remember to let me know how you will be participating in the draft.
Happy New Year
